DARK CIRCLE MISTAKES AND 3 EASY SOLUTIONS
/Dark under eye circles are one of life’s mysteries… Why can’t they just not be a thing, right? But for most of us they are a BIG thing, and something that really can make or break your overall feeling of well-being. I’ve studied solutions for years, tested many products, and these three easy changes in your routine are the three I would start with. So let’s dive in… Here are 3 mistakes you may be making: [video here]
Mistake #1 Forgoing circulation care
Introducing cooling tools or products to the under eye helps reduce inflammation and increase circulation to the area. Daily (Morning) application of cooling tools will prep the skin for best results. I do this during breakfast for 5 minutes- its quick and easy but makes a big difference!
Mistake # 2 Using the wrong type of eye cream
There are two categories of eye creams, and using the wrong one can mean you aren't getting the results you'd like.
Night Creams are thicker, more moisturizing and stay on the surface of the skin much longer- these will not lay nicely under makeup so they are not meant for day-time use
Day Creams are thinner and will absorb into the skin more readily- they are often marked with words like 'lifting', 'brightening' or 'firming' because they contain active ingredients to give temporary results that make the under eye appear healthier

Mistake #3 Concealing discoloration in a single step
When we are attempting to cover dark circles under the eyes, using a single concealer shade will leave us with muddy results and darkness still shining through. Instead, use a secondary ‘filler’ color to balance the tones and give you a fuller coverage. Thin layers are all you need when you are using the correct color balance. Darker skin tones will need darker filler colors like red, coral or orange, and more fair skin tones will find the right balance in peaches and yellows.
