MEGANS DRESS LINKED HERE

When it comes to Valentine's Day we usually 'think pink', but Pink can be an intimidating color to wear on your face for some women. When we want it to look age appropriate and feel a little more grown up there are some simple rules you can follow so you'll never go wrong. [VIDEO HERE]

A few of my pink looks over the years. Notice how the tones are all in alignment between the eyes, cheeks and lips for each look- this creates a feeling of cohesion.

PINK MAKEUP GUIDELINES

  • KEEP THE LOOK MONOCHROME- keeping the tones in the look all in the same family of tone, meaning all warm or all cool, will really connect the looks and make it feel verys seamless and easy to look at. Think about paint swatches and pinking a variety of colors all from the same swatch.

  • OR MATCH THE INTENSITY- Another option is to match the intensity of your shades all the way across, so for example picking a berry lip AND a berry blush, works better than berry and bubblegum mixed. You can use the same tone on the eye too for a completely polished look.

  • OPT FOR MORE MATURE SHADES OF PINK- avoid colors that feel too cutesy or age inappropriate. If hot pink or fuschia feels too bold, instead opt for muted softer tones, or deeper richer tones, avoiding the brights in between.
