HAIR TOOL TECH... IS IT HOT OR NOT?

Is that new tool worth the cost or is it a total gimmick? I put a few of the latest gadgets to the test, and the results might surprise you. Whether you are looking for todays’ big-volume’ trend or classic sleek locks, there are tools on the market claiming to get you better results with less effort.. here’s what I discovered. [video here]

  • Conair Cool Air Styler - this gizmo is super ‘cool’ with a built in fan to keep the outside of the barrels cold, while the inside is heated like a typical flat iron. The combo of temps locks in curls instantly… super impressed with my quick results.

  • Revlon Double Straight Flat Iron - get double the straightening power with this tool, that has two separate plates stacked one after the other. The first plate set begins to straighten the strand, followed immediately by the second for a smoother result in less passes.

  • Dyson AirWrap - it’s no secret this tool has a cult like following and the people who can swallow the huge almost $600 price tag, end up loving it like another child. The results speak for themselves and you do get several tools in one, but keep in mind you probably only end up using 1 or 2 of the 6 options depending on your hair type. My opinion: if you have the money to spend or you are a beauty enthusiast, you’ll enjoy this- but its not necessary for the average gal who just wants a simple solution in the morning.

  • Add-on Long Barrels

  • FoxyBae Cordless Curler - the idea behind this tool is unique, but upon further investigation and really putting it to the test, it came up short for me. The battery powered heat just wasn’t powerful enough for me, and I couldn’t get consistent results no matter what I tried. This one is a pass for me…

  • Conair Pro Jumbo Hot Rollers - if BIG HAIR is a goal of yours then look no further than this set of jumbo velvet hot rollers. They heat up super fast about 90 seconds, and they produce lots of volume and a little bend (2 inches in diameter) but also require at least 20 minutes of wear time to cool down. I would have liked to have 2 more rollers which would have allowed me to use slightly smaller sections, producing eve better results.
