SKINCARE CYCLING - A SIMPLIFIED ROUTINE

'Skin Care Cycling' is a term coined by Dr. Whitney Bowe, a well-known dermatologist, and recently her theory of Skin Cycling has gone viral on Tik Tok.

The idea is that many times we are unsure of how and when to use products effectively, and often by over complicating our routines we actually cause more irritation or even lessen the effectiveness of the ingredients in our products.

Skin cycling takes the guesswork out of it, and gives a simple pattern to follow for better results from our skincare. This type of cycle is actually something we see a lot in the hair industry, where we recommend spacing out treatments like the use of purple shampoo or protein treatments, because if we do them too often we actually cause adverse effects. So here’s the basic idea: [video here]

The 4 Day Skin Care Cycle (the concept and schedule here are based on Dr. Bowe’s concept, however these product recommendations are my own.)

Always removing makeup and cleanse first followed by:

Each night should also include an eye cream like this one.

Then the cycle repeats. Dr. Bowe says better results can be seen as quickly as two cycles in, but with consistent cycling skins texture, color and glow will only improve.
