DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS' COVER... MAKEUP EDITION

We’ve all done it… walked by a makeup display at a store, and judged a book by its’ cover. The packaging is boring, or the shade looks totally wrong, or we simply don’t think the product is for us. But some of my favorite products out there, didn’t wow me until I actually USED them. They were dark horses that I might have missed if I didn’t take a chance. So here are a few of my top picks that you might have skipped too.

Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick - The perfect ‘just-bitten’ lip color that looks amazing on everyone!

Catrice PH Reactive Multi Stick - I love anything ph reactive… it’s like a little fun surprise. But mostly I love the sheer pink value. They’re glowy and poppy and sheer in a single step.

Iconic London UnderGlow Blurring Primer - There are a million glowy primers out there, but this one is also BLURRING. It would be easy to lump it into all the rest, however this one truly stands out.

Morphe Cloudlight Veil - These finishing powders use color theory to even out skin tone and give a filter-like effect to the face. If you don’t love a super matte setting powder, this camo-looking wild card is a sure bet.

Loreal Waterproof Cream Shadow 'Amber Rush' - This is a perfect example of a packaging fail. Cheap plastic with a barcode on full display usually has me running the other direction, but this simple shadow single is Loreals’s top selling eye shadow of all time! They are truly water/sweat proof and will last you through the apocalypse. Amber Rush is gorgeous on all skin tones, so start there.
