TEEN MAKEUP TIPS FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL

Back to school this week means back to early mornings, and teens or tweens wanting to look their best while still feeling age appropriate. My philosophy is all about using simple steps that enhance confidence but don't cover up individual beauty. This is the approach and products I would recommend for those quick mornings. [video here]

BEST MAKEUP FOR TEENS AND TWEENS

  • Step 1: complexion

    • Burts Bees BB Cream- rather than foundation start here to even out skintone without looking to made up. Bonus for using SPF everyday!

    • Loreal Anti-Redness Magic BB Cream- if you are dealing with breakouts, redness, rosacea etc. opt for a green BB cream instead, this will cancel out the redness but won’t look cakey over texture in the skin.

    • ELF Brightening Concealer- after your base is even you can go back in with a touchup concealer on spots that need more coverage.

    Step 2: color

    • Profusion Cream Blush- skip the bronzer and instead add a tiny dash of cream blush. Your overall appearance will be lifted and brighter with minimal effort.

    • Lottie London Shadow Palette- keep things simple and neutral with a quick swipe of shadow. I like to use a fluffy blending brush to swipe on a matte shade first, and then use my finger to dab a little touch of shimmer over the top. Less is more here.

    Step 3: enhancers

    • Pop Beauty Plump Pout Lipgloss- perfect for use on the go, these plumping glosses come in a really unique flat shaped bottle that slides into a pocket and disappears.

    • Maybelline Sky High Mascara- an over all 10/10 mascara that has a smaller wand to work well with smaller anatomy, won’t budge, but also removes easily. It also comes in Brown which is a really nice option for a less harsh look.
