WINTER-PROOF YOUR LOOK

We are squarely in the coldest temps of the year, and you may notice your makeup doesn't sit as well on your skin or your hair falling victim to that dreaded winter static. Take a few cues from my tried and true tips and products to winter-proof your look...

Exfoliate, Hydrate and Protect Your Skin: Cold, dry air demands a richer, more nourishing moisturizer and likely a little more help turning over cells with a chemical exfoliant.

Winter-Proof Your Makeup Routine: I like to call this technique 'sandwich with moisture', Start with a hydrating primer to create a smooth base, and choose creamy or liquid formulas for foundation and blush to avoid flakiness. Finish with a hydrating setting spray, to lock in moisture on both ends.

Pamper Your Lips: Cold weather can chap lips quickly, so exfoliate gently with a gentle scrub and follow up with a deeply hydrating balm containing lanolin or beeswax.

Add a Little Weight to Your Hair to Avoid Static: Dry air can lead to a flyaway, dry hair. Use a styling cream and/or a lightweight hairspray to add a little more moisture and weight to your locks to keep the dreaded static at bay.
